Harry Jones Ground Hog Match Results
We shoot Three (3) Firearm Classifications, Custom, Tactical, and Factory .
We shoot at 100, 200, and 300 yards.
General Rules -- Ground Hog Matches
1. $20 Entry Fee, 50% payback Per Class 2. 10 minute Time Limit (no more than 5 shots maximum on the Target) 3. If you have more than 5 shots on your Target, you lose your Highest Scoring Hit + 1 Point 4. No Penalties will be given if you shoot above the line on your 1st shot and you tell the Range Master 5. We Score by the Gray Ring the Bullet makes (not the spider web) 6. The Range is Cold before the Match 7. Matches Start at 9 a.m. 8. Matches will be shot at 100, 200, and 300 yards 9. No Drugs, Alcohol, or Intoxicating Substances will be permitted on the Range Property 10. Unsportsman-like Conduct will not be permitted 11. You cannot put Bolts in your firearm until the Range Master gives the Order 12. Shots fired after Cease-Fire has been called will result in an Automatic Disqualification 13. We will have a Minimum of Three Referees (Their Decisions will be Final in all Incidences) 14. Benches will be chosen at random by the Computer, by Class 15. The Harry Jones' Groundhog Shoot Champion will be determined by the Sum-Total of all of the Shooters' Points Accumulated over the 6 Matches 16. If you shoot more than one gun in the same class, you may only win once.

The winner of the Custom Class: Rich Skipper 149 with 6-Xs, 2nd David Talerico 146 with 8-Xs, 3rd Don Gump 146 with 6-Xs.
The winner of the Hunter Class: Gary Munson 145 with 6-Xs, 2nd Matthew Elson 144 with 6-Xs, 3rd Dave Elson 142 with 4-Xs.
The winner of the Factory Class: Dave Elson 146 with 6-Xs, 2nd Ralph Hoyt 142 with 3-Xs, 3rd Alan Malone 139 with 7-Xs.

Today we had 27 competitors shoot and several spectators. There were Eleven (one did not finish) Factory Class Shooters, Five Hunter Class Shooters and Eleven Custom Class Shooters. The Winner of the Factory Class was John Blaker with a three target Total Of 142 and 0-Xs, Second was Steve Jobes with 137 and 1-X, Third was Matthew Elson with 133 and 4-Xs, Fourth was Bryan Corey with 133 and 1-X, Fifth was Ron Bland with 132 and 2-Xs, Sixth was Dave Elson with 129 and 0-Xs, Seventh was Paul Brown with 109, Eighth was Erik Brown with 106, Ninth was Barney Musgrave with 95 and Tenth was Mike Holyfield with 52. The Winner of the Hunter Class was Gary Fluharty with a three target Total Of 144 and 2-Xs, Second was John Blaker with 142 and 5-Xs, Third was Ralph Hoyt with 141 and 2-Xs, Fourth was Bear Brewer with 138 and 2-Xs and Fifth was Ron Bland with 133 and 3-Xs. There was a Tie for First Place of the Custom Class. (First and Second Place were combined). First Place was Marvin Kimball and Rodney Pugh, both with 148 and 7-Xs, Third was Gary Munson with 147 and 4-Xs, Fourth was Kary White with 146 and 6-Xs, Fifth was Marvin Kimball with 145 and 4-Xs, Sixth was Dave Elson with 144 and 3-Xs, Seventh was Jerry Smith with 143 and 3-Xs, Eighth was Rick Marling with 143 and 2-Xs, Ninth was Ralph Hoyt with 141 and 3-Xs and Tenth was Jerry Smith with 141 and 2-Xs.

September 8th
John Blaker set a new range record in the factory class with a score of 149 with seven x's. 2nd place was Ed Bearint with a score of 139 with 1x. In 3rd place came Joe Laskarin with a score of 138 with one x. First place in Hunter Class was Jack Jones with a score of 146 with two x's. 2nd place in Hunter Class was John Blaker with a score of 140 with five x's. The winner of the Custom Class was the unstoppable Jeff Musgrave with a score of 147 with nine x's. In second place came David Talerico with a score of 146 with seven x's. In 3rd place came Jeff Friend with a score of 146 with four x's. Harry Jones would like to thank all 27 shooters who came out in the fog and rain to participate in the Ground Hog Shoot. This was the final Ground Hog Shoot of the year.
Our next shoot will be in the Summer of 2019 at 9:00.
2017
May 6th we had 22 shooters at our first Ground Hog Shoot of 2017. No one competed in the "AR" Class. For the Factory Class, Joe Laskaren was 1st with 140 2-xs. Mike McDougal 2nd with 137 2-xs. Pat Saloky 3rd place with 137 1-x. In Hunter class, Gary Fluharty was 1st with a 133 1-x. Rodger Hornick 2nd with 109 2-xs. Gary Munson 3rd with 79 1-x. The Custom Class, Travis Shreve 1st with a 147 8-xs. Gary Munson 2nd with 147 3-xs. Marvin Kimball 3rd with 145 5-xs. Harry Jones 1000 Yard Rifle Club would like to thank all 22 shooters for coming out and competing in the cool rain.
Don Gump won the Egg Shoot hitting the Egg at 300 Yards 4 of 5 shots.

Charles Vandegrift was 2nd with 132 1-x. In Hunter class, Gary Munson was 1st with a 140 4-xs. Ken Riddle was 2nd with 140 1-x. The Custom Class, Randy Carmichael 1st with a 148 6-xs. Custom Class, 1st Place: Rodney Pugh 148 6-xs, 2nd Place: Marvin Kimball 146 6-xs, 3rd Place: Jeff Musgrave 147 3-xs.

For the Factory Class (15 shooters), 1st Place: David Talerico 148 7-xs (Range Record for Factory Class), 2nd Place: Brian Hess 140 2-xs, 3rd Place: John Blaker 137 2-xs. Hunter Class (4 shooters), 1st Place: Ed Bearint 144 2-xs, 2nd Place: Gary Fluhardy 140 3-xs. Custom Class (13 shooters), 1st Place: Gary Munson 150 6-xs (New Range Record), 2nd Place: David Talerico 147 10-xs, 3rd Place: Jason Williams 147 8-xs.
